EEE 900 VS 1000 what’s the difference ?
So with the success of the 700 and 701's followed with the 900 and intel atom based 901 Asus bring us what the consumers have been asking for... MORE or have they? the EEE 1000 is basically the same specs as the 901 but with a slightly bigger 10" screen, much bigger 40 gig ssd HDD, up to 2 gigs ram. battery life is reported to be a respectable 4 - 8 hours. Price is $699 so I would really consider a full fledged laptop before committing my self to this.

First iphone buyer in NZ paid by marketing company
Well, really should have seen this coming I mean what student could afford vodafones plans for an iphone. Also when you think about it his story didn't really sum too well. And before you jump down my throat that his mates were going to pay for it as part of his dare, think about it. What mates could afford to buy you a iphone? drug dealer mates?
Well as it turns out he has opened his mouth and spilt the beans.
Despite what spin you put on this, I feel pretty ripped that vodafone or whoever needed to go to the extent to pay some one to start queuing up for its products. To top it off he couldnt even keep it but on the upside you can win it here.
Looking at this again the campagin may be for yellowpages but this still looks poor for the iphone.

NZ Vodafone Iphone failure
This is starting to become a hot topic now. Vodafone appears to be taking advantage of their market position here in new zealand.
I was once told an old saying, If you cant really deliver a product or service in its full capacity simply price it out side your customers reach. My guess is Vodafone's network is not ready to deliver vast amounts of data thousands of iphone would consume so they have priced it out of reach of most consumers until they can provide better service.

worst part is the vodafone rep doesn't appear to have done his home work at all and looks a little silly. This video also highlights how much vodafone screws consumers compared to overseas for data and call minutes.
Vodafone fails IPhone Launch
So today Vodafone NZ announced their plans to finally release the iphone here and this is what we get.
I have to say this wouldn't be the most appealing set of plans. Not to mention that iphone's tend to like bandwidth so 1 gig would not really go that far on a semi heavy user.
At these prices its more expensive than a HP on a decent car.
EEE 900 touch screen hack
I came across this nifty mod for the newer 900 eee notebooks. Also they included step by step instructions. and links to places you can buy the bits. All we need is a hinge hack to turn the whole shebang into a tablet.
