Convert your servers to Vm’s the easy way
A few weeks ago while consolidating my data center I came across this app. Basically this little tool can suck up your PC / server over the network, wrap it all up and package it into virtual goodness. I managed to convert a 2k3 1.8 P4 10 gig server over 100 Mb lan in about 30 minutes , all the while the server remained online and unaffected.
The only problem I had with this app was when imaging a ISA server, even after turning off all the firewall services it still wouldn't work but truth been told I really didn't try that hard. Guess I could have booted the machine into safe mode and try but ... I didn't.
I can really see this being a excellent DR solution for smaller enterprises .
